What We Believe

We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit of God and is the church’s highest authority in all matters of doctrine and conduct.  Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21).

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of God, the Word who became flesh through His virgin birth.  We believe he lived his life without sinning, and freely and willingly went to the cross to atone for the sins of the world and accomplished salvation for all who trust in Him. We believe He rose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father where He possesses all authority in heaven and on earth.  We believe in the literal return of Jesus to the earth at the end of this age.  He will come to bring salvation to His own people, and judgment to His enemies. (Matthew 1:22-23, 16:16, 17:22-23; Luke 1:26-36; John 1:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13).

We believe that there is only one living and true God whose name is JEHOVAH.  We believe that through the Godhead (God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit) the heavens and the earth, and all things visible and invisible were created and are sustained.  (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-3; Mark 12:29; 1 John 5:7).

We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit.  We believe He works in the minds and hearts of persons when the Gospel is proclaimed and when biblical truth is taught.  He draws unbelievers to faith in Jesus Christ, imparts new life to those who believe, and indwells every believer for ministry.  .  (John 14:16, Acts 1:8, 2:38; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16-17; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13).

We believe that Salvation is God’s free gift to us through the atoning death of Jesus Christ, but we must accept it.  Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty.  Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his/her life by faith.  We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells the lives of those that are saved and the Spirit equips each person with spiritual gifts to fulfill the work of the ministry.   (John 3:16, 14:6; Romans 5:1, 6:23, 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5).

We believe that Baptism is the symbol of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.  Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, baptism is the way for us to publicly declare our new life in Christ.  We believe and practice baptism by immersion for new Christians.  (Matthew 3:13-17, 28:18-20; Acts 2:38-41, 8:12; Romans 6:3-4).

We Believe God’s people are called to assemble together regularly for worship, which includes; partaking of  the Lord’s Supper, edification from the Scriptures, and for mutual support and encouragement.  We Believe God intends for His church to be united through a common faith in Jesus and a common commitment to live under the authority of God’s revealed Word (Acts 2:42-47, 20:7, 20:28; Romans 12:4-5; 1 Cor. 10:17; Hebrews 10:25).
